Be Still and Know

Be still, and know that I am God. I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth!

So here goes my first post!

I’m struggling with trying to organize my thoughts on what to start this new chapter in my life. Like many of you, 2021 has been a challenge in ways that we could not prepare for and defiantly not something I would like to repeat in most ways. As challenging as all the restrictions have been I will admit that God really is using this time to teach me to ‘Be Still and Know that I am God’ as He says in Psalms 46:10(KJV).

For the last 30+ years I’ve worked outside the home, even when the kids were young I’d find employment to work around the family life style so they would not have to go to child care. Now in the last year I’ve found myself unemployed twice, a very rare season in my life and especially now when the kids are almost all grown and don’t need child-care. Ironic how God choose this time to make me unemployed? Not really, I wouldn’t have taken the time to just ‘Be Still’!

I do believe that everything happens for a reason and that I need to learn and grow through it, so I’m learning to be ok with just being at home. You’d think that I’d be bored and have nothing to do but that is not the case at all. I do catch myself having days where I’ve accomplished very little at home but those are often days I need to just do nothing- and then there are days i just procrastinate!(that’s for another blog altogether)

My biggest struggle right now is not contributing to the family finances and that is where this new adventure comes in. I came across Pete & Heather Reese’s post on facebook and started looking into their website https://itsalovelylife.com/ . They made it sound so simple and fun to blog that my 18year old daughter is joining me.

I’m truly hoping that this blog will not only help us financially but will more than anything be an inspiration to you all.

Margaret
